# Metal MCP

> Run your raise from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any AI assistant connected directly to your Metal workspace.

Metal MCP connects AI assistants directly to your Metal workspace. Ask Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor to find investors, map warm intros, update your pipeline, or prepare you for a call, and it happens in Metal without you opening the app.

It is built on MCP (Model Context Protocol), the open standard for connecting AI models to software. Any MCP-compatible client works, and teams building custom agents or internal tooling can build on the same connection.

  MCP is an access layer, not a separate product. Everything it does runs on the same proprietary data, relevance scoring, and network intelligence that powers the Metal app, so results stay consistent wherever you work.

## Common Use Cases

<Tabs>
  <Tab title="Investor Discovery">
    Search the market by stage, sector, geography, thesis, or recent activity. Pull full investor profiles, check sizes, portfolio patterns, and co-investor relationships. Your assistant can research companies, their funding history, and founders, or find the investors behind any founder and the deals a specific partner has personally led.

    > "Find seed-stage fintech investors in Europe who have led a round in the last 12 months, and show me their typical check size."
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Warm Paths">
    Map ranked intro paths from your network to any target investor, surface your strongest connectors, and see what your network actually covers across Gmail, LinkedIn, and manually added contacts.

    > "Who in my network can introduce me to Accel? Rank the paths by strength."
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Pipeline">
    Create pipelines and stages, add or remove deals in bulk, move investors between stages, update amounts and next steps, and manage custom columns. Your assistant can also tag investors, companies, and people across your workspace, and add or retrieve notes and contact persons on any deal. Pipeline hygiene becomes a sentence, not an afternoon.

    > "Move every investor I met this week to Due Diligence and add a next step from my meeting notes."
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Meetings & Email">
    List your upcoming and past investor calls, pull the pre-meeting prep brief, and review post-meeting analysis. Read the email threads behind any investor relationship from your connected inbox.

    > "What should I know before my 2pm with Index? Summarize our past conversations and their recent deals."
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Signals & New Funds">
    See which investors are publicly signaling conviction in your space, dig into why a specific firm matches, and track newly announced funds relevant to your raise.

    > "Show me investors signaling interest in vertical SaaS this month, and any new funds that match my stage and geography."
  </Tab>
</Tabs>

## Getting Connected

<Steps>
  <Step title="Add Metal in your AI client">
    Add Metal as a connector in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any MCP-compatible client. Your Metal contact will share the connection details.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Sign in and choose your organization">
    Authenticate with your Metal account through a standard OAuth flow and select the organization you want to connect. Access is scoped to that organization.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Approve permissions">
    Read and write permissions are granted separately. Start read-only if you prefer, and enable write access when you are ready for your assistant to update your pipeline, tags, and notes.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Setup takes about two minutes. Access can be revoked at any time from your client's connector settings.

      Your assistant sees only what your Metal account can see, within the organization you selected at connection time.

<Note>
  Your fundraising configuration (stage, sector, geography, existing investors) is managed in the Metal app and is not editable through MCP. This keeps the setup that drives your recommendations deliberate and in one place.
